Last weekend I went to visit my friend Neli in Manchester - and had a great time! We walked a lot, talked a lot, she cooked some beautiful Bulgarian food (that's where she comes from) and I even managed to see Sharon Needles at Kiki and go to a "meet and greet" with her thanks to two crazy ladies, Gina and Kylie :-)
In this post, I put pictures from our first walk around the city. Some of them look kind of "empty" - that's because it was early morning on a Sunday and every sane person was still in bed... ;-)
So Manchester is a little bit weird. There are many lovely buildings, old and new, but often they are hidden among the "not so nice" ones. It is definitely an industrial city and has a certain "rough and tough" charm about it. The people I met along the way were friendly, good-natured and chatty.
I decided against putting any actual info about Manchester - that kind of stuff is nowadays easily accessible and I'm hoping the pictures will give a better "feel" of the city. I'm also a bit lazy... ;-)
Anyway, that's all in this post, see you in the next one!
Domo.
